A weekend in Wellington - watching football

8-9 June: A calm Sunday morning spent watching Isla and Brielle play football.  Mark is coach for both the girls' teams so it was a busy morning for him.

Castlepoint Day 2

June 6:  Ten of our group stayed overnight at a house in Castlepoint, and spent the next morning exploring around the lighthouse and reefs.  Then it was off to climb Castle Rock (162m) before lunch and driving home.

This tough daisy (Castlepoint daisy) is native to just around here - it must have to survive extremes of wind and weather on top of Castle Rock

Castlepoint Station

5 June: Our Thursday tramping group travelled to Castlepoint.  Our leader had arranged permission for us to go for a five hour coastal walk through Castlepoint Station.  We were lucky to have a bright, sunny day - although quite breezy.

There were 15 in our group - some in this photo with Castle Rock behind

A few adventurous ones dodged the waves and slippery rocks, but it was not a short cut!
