Thursday tramp - Mount Bruce

28 August  - a Thursday tramp to Bruce's Hill near Mt Bruce.  I was the leader on this day and Owen came along too.  Twenty-two in the group and we enjoyed a sunny, calm winter's day.  There were great views looking across to the snow-capped Tararua Range.  On the way back we were lucky enough to sight a morepork sitting just above us at head height in a tree.  Owen did well to photograph it, as the both the bird and the bush were very dark.
