From sunshine to snow

14 July - My first Thursday tramp after returning from summer in Europe.  Fourteen of us headed up to Sunrise hut (eastern Ruahine Range), into a lot of snow.  None of us had ever seen so much snow here before.  There was a bitterly cold wind swirling the snow about too - we were very glad to have our lunch in the hut.  A memorable day out!
