Geneva, Switzerland

2 August - We left the Alsace region and headed to the high Jura region in SE France.  As the weather was threatening more rain we booked into a permanent caravan for two nights at "Camping trois oiseax".  It was actually a ski area in the winter and there was a ski lift close by.  We chose this location as it was very close to Switzerland.  We wanted to visit Geneva, but without the expense of staying there.  In the morning we drove to Nyon, beside Lake Geneva and caught a train in to Geneva.  Our ticket included day trips on buses and trams in Geneva which was very convenient.  Owen was very keen to visit CERN, the home of the Large Hadron Collider.  We were not able to go underground, but spent the morning looking at two very interesting exhibitions: "Microcosm" and "Universe of Particles.
